In the rue de l\u2019Antenne, you can admire a rather unusual sculpture: a man, with the head of a fish, stands on stilts. This sculpture by a local artist, Vinciane Renard, reminds us of the nickname given to the inhabitants of Lessive: \u201c<strong>les Tchabots<\/strong>\u201d. This term of Walloon origin designates small fish with flat heads, black in color, which are frequently found stranded on the ground after a flood.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-44ce644\" data-block-id=\"44ce644\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-left\">This sculpture also recalls the folklore of the inhabitants of <strong>Lessive<\/strong>. Indeed, during the floods and to graze their herds in the meadows, everyone from Laver had to be able to \u201cgo to skasses\u201d (wallon for stilts). The stilts have disappeared to make way for rubber boots but the tradition has been perpetuated through the folk group \u201cLes skassis de Lessive\u201d. They go out during the village festival which is held every year in July.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-ffc387a\" data-block-id=\"ffc387a\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text has-text-align-left\">Between the small hills called \u201cles Tiennes\u201d, you will have the opportunity to see the <strong>old antennas<\/strong> of the space telecommunications earth station.
